FROM '90S TO NEW: A MODERN KITCHEN RENOVATION PROJECT IN MEMPHIS, TN!

Phillips Property Solutions, LLC completed a full kitchen renovation in Memphis, TN that transformed an outdated space into a clean, modern kitchen. The project began with a thorough demo to remove everything that no longer worked for the layout, including the old wall and base cabinetry, countertops, trim, and flooring.

With the space cleared, the team prepared surfaces for new installations and made any necessary repairs to ensure a level, stable foundation for the next steps. We installed new shaker-style cabinets that rise 42 inches tall in a deep green shade to add depth and character while maintaining a classic silhouette. The taller cabinets provide extra storage and a more built-in appearance, which improves both function and visual balance in the room.

For the countertops, a neutral cream quartz was selected and installed. The quartz offers a hard-wearing, easy-to-clean surface that complements the green cabinetry without competing with it. The lighter countertop brightens the work areas and provides a subtle contrast to the cabinets.

A grey herringbone pattern backsplash was added behind the counters to introduce texture and visual interest. The herringbone layout creates movement and pairs well with the shaker cabinets and cream quartz, pulling the design together while remaining understated.

We installed a farmhouse sink to match the kitchen’s updated style and to provide a roomy, practical basin for daily use. Complementing the sink and fixtures, modern brass finishes were added, including a brass sink faucet and matching hardware, which bring warmth and a contemporary touch to the space.

The floor was upgraded with light-colored luxury vinyl plank flooring, chosen for its durability and easy maintenance. The lighter tone of the LVP helps reflect light through the room, making the kitchen feel more open and airy.

New appliances were fitted into the redesigned layout to improve workflow and modernize the kitchen’s functionality. Above the sink, a pendant light was installed to offer focused task lighting and a decorative focal point, while new recessed lighting was added throughout the ceiling for even, ambient illumination. The project was wrapped up with a fresh coat of paint on walls and trim.
