From Outdated to Oasis: Sunroom & Greenhouse Transformation in Germantown, TN!
Phillips Property Solutions, LLC in Memphis, TN completed a full sunroom and greenroom renovation that refreshed both the interior and the roof areas around the additions. This Germantown, TN project focused on removing worn components, installing updated framing, replacing skylights, fitting new ceiling materials, and finishing all interior surfaces for a cohesive look.
We began by removing the old skylights in the sunroom and the aged polycarbonate multiwall panels in the greenroom. Clearing those elements allowed us to inspect the existing structure and prepare for necessary framing upgrades. Removing the old panels also made it possible to install replacement skylight windows and new roof flashing details where needed.
New framing was installed using 2x10s and properly sized ceiling joists. This updated framing gave the vaulted areas the support required for the new tongue and groove ceiling and the replacement skylights. Installing the new joists also ensured the ceiling had an even plane for the finish materials and a solid base for staining.
For the vaulted ceiling, we installed tongue and groove boards and created a vaulted shape in the sunroom. We installed the new skylight windows directly into that ceiling so they sit flush and look intentional. After installation, all ceiling surfaces were stained to match, giving the sunroom and greenroom a uniform, finished appearance.
In the greenroom ceiling we replaced the old polycarbonate multiwall panels with new polycarbonate multiwall panels. These panels were fitted and sealed to work with the new framing and to accept the roofing work we completed around them. The panels provide the translucent coverage expected in a greenroom while integrating neatly with the surrounding materials.
On the roof, we installed new GAF Timberline architectural shingles around the new greenroom panels and the replacement skylights. We used the Barkwood shade to match the aesthetic the homeowner wanted. Installing new shingles around the panels and skylights helped provide a clean transition from roof to glazing and improved the roofline appearance.
After the ceiling and roofing work was complete, we stained all ceiling surfaces so the tongue and groove vaulted ceiling and adjacent areas matched in color and sheen. Staining tied together the new wood surfaces and helped deliver the warm, finished look the rooms needed.
The final interior step was painting all walls and trim inside both the sunroom and the greenroom. Fresh paint completed the renovation by brightening spaces and ensuring trim matched the newly stained ceilings. The combined work gave both rooms a refreshed, coordinated interior and updated roof detailing.
This sunroom and greenroom renovation in Germantown, TN balanced structural upgrades, new skylights, updated polycarbonate panels, and finished interior surfaces to leave the rooms looking cohesive and well-protected.
